Write Up:
A chilly start but we soon warmed up as we headed up the very well graded trail. The overgrown bushes meant that those in front were getting a free shower so we switched out leaders along the way. The trails though the forest were wide and soft underfoot. We encountered a few downed trees that required stepping over or limboing under. Some of the boardwalks need some TLC and we had a few creek crossings to negotiate too. After all that we made it to Kindersley Pass in 3 1/2 hours where we had a quick lunch before returning the same way. Lots of flowers along the trail, the highlights included one solitary Striped Coralroot orchid, Drummond's Anemones and a cluster of White Lady's Slipper orchids. Also a very well defined bear track in the mud, luckily no sight of the owner. A long but great day out - stats were 16.6km with a whopping 991m of cumulative elevation!!
