Write Up:It was a beautiful day as we headed out across
the dam. Trail conditions through the forest
were a mix of snow and moist trail - not too
many icy sections and less mud than expected.
We carried our spikes all day.
Although there were a selection of picnic
tables at the Broken Bridges site we elected
to sit in the sun on the rocks beside the
Kananaskis river.
After lunch we climbed up to the ridge above
the river and followed it to complete our loop
back to Stoney Trail and our return to the
trailhead. Along the way we found a couple of
Prairie crocuses and an odd wooden structure
built using four trees as the corner supports.
Kate brought home baked cookies to share which
tasted like they were just out of the oven as
they were warm from sitting in the car all
day. Thank you Kate.
Stats were 15km with 500+ elevation.
