Write Up:This was Sonja and Susan's Yoho experience :-)
Unfortunately the sky wasn't the brilliant blue of the day before
or after but we enjoyed checking out Yoho lake (nice campground
there) before heading over Yoho pass onto the Wapta Highline (this
is the trail to the Burgess Shale) to enjoy a view of Emerald
Lake. From here we retraced our steps back to Yoho lake and picked
up the Highline trail to connect with the main Iceline trail. We
had a fabulous view of Takakkaw falls and the Daly glacier that
feeds the waterfall. It was gettting late in the day at this
point so we descended the somewhat slick trail to the Whiskey Jack
hostel then back to our vehicles at Takakkaw parking lot. Next
time we'll miss out the Wapta Highline trail so that we can
continue further along the Iceline.
