Write Up:A beautiful day for a wee hike in our backyard.
This is a nice trail with a mix of forest and open areas with
views of Mount Baldy, Barrier Lake and Yamnuska in the distance.
Stats were 8.5km with 290m of cumulative elevation gain - a great
hike if you are just starting to get out to the mountains.
The Paintbrush and the wild roses were the flowers of the day.
Wildlife was an 'angry chicken' - my husband's name for the grouse
that got all fluffed up and squawked at him as he went past - not
sure who gave who the biggest scare ;-)
Thanks to Andrew for posting the initial hike - we had enough
people sign up that we ran two hikes - one clockwise and the other
anti-clockwise, meeting up to say hi around the midpoint.
