What a fabulous fall day for hiking.
After a chilly start (3 deg) we were soon shedding the layers.
Quite a lot of vehicles in the parking lot but we didn't meet many
people on the trail especially after we left Taylor lake and made
the short climb to the meadows. The larches are just passing
their prime so lots of needles on the ground but still a
spectacular show in a wide open meadow. The ridge itself was
beckoning so that might need a wee explore next year ;-)
18.7km and, hard to believe, 1100m of cumulative elevation! We
enjoyed the day so were out there for 7 hours but who wants to
hurry home when it's so nice out ;-)
