Write Up:We had fabulous weather for the hike. It was cool and sunny in the
morning as we began the hike up to Summit Lake at 08:45 from Cameron
Lake. There were plenty of wildflowers to look at on the way up. We
rested for a few minutes at Summit Lake and continued on the trail to
ascend the scree slope that leads to the col that marks the maximum
elevation for this hike. The views to and on top of the col were
spectacular, and we enjoyed our lunches taking them in. The remainder of
the hike (11 KM) was all downhill. We passed the beautiful Carthew lakes
and waterfalls and dropped down swiftly to Aldersen Lake. The trail
after Aldersen Lake was littered with uncleared winter deadfall, which
slowed our progress and became tedious. But we arrived at the Cameron
Falls at 17:30 after 20Km and 875m of hiking in good spirits with smiles
on our faces. My thanks to everyone who joined me on this classic hike
and to Marlene for posting it. Jim
