Write Up:We lucked out with the weather today and hardly saw a soul all day!
The trails were predominantly dry (which is probably already not the
case) with some icy spots that were avoidable so, once again, the
microspikes stayed in our packs.
On the way out we went up and down and up and down along all four of
the hills then followed the middle trail back between the river and
the hills which avoided all but the last big climb. At this point we
decided as a group to check out another trail which led off into the
woods. This turned out to be a lovely way back avoiding said big hill
(note - it would be very wet and muddy in the spring) and wasn't any
longer than the regular trail.
We got back to Calgary in plenty time before the snow started.
Stats were 11.7km with 320m of cumulative elevation.
