Itinerary:

I don't usually hike on a long weekend but given that winter is returning on Tuesday I'd like to get out on the trails on Monday. We start out on the interpretive trail at the Sandy McNabb campground then pick up a small section of the xc ski trails before joining the Sandy McNabb Hill trail. The hill isn't actually a single top as we climb and descend a few times along the way. We will walk along the long meadow as far as we feel like before returning almost the same way. Expect 4 - 4 1/2 hours on trail including breaks.

Kananaskis conservation pass. Microspikes.

Drive to Turner Valley then head west on highway 546 into the Sheep/Bluerock area. Just before the winter gate turn left into the Sandy McNabb campground. Follow the road and take the 2nd left into a small lot which is the access for the interpretive loop. If you go down the steep hill you have gone too far.
