Write Up:The parking lot at Vista Lake was almost full when we started our hike around 745. The route
finding was easy with well defined, well maintained trails the whole way. We kept a steady
pace with a few stops along the way and reached Gibbon Pass in all its larch covered glory in
good time and enjoyed a leisurely lunch with lots of time to take photos and chat.
We encountered a few backpackers coming down and a few folks who were based at Shadow
Lake Lodge.
When we got back to the parking lot, we found that the highway was temporarily closed - a
crew was recovering an overturned semi.
Before long we were on the road.
It was a truly glorious day with a great group - I can’t wait to see the pic!
