Itinerary:

An early start is necessary given the distance, elevation and the somewhat shorter days (sunrise is 7:34am/sunset 7:38pm). It is important that hikers are relatively strong and can maintain a steady pace. There will be breaks for sure - just want to stay on track so we can enjoy the larch trees and views atop Gibbon Pass without feeling rushed. There may be some incredible photo opps we will want to spend some time on. Will be great to descend/drive home with some daylight. Given the early start - please arrange to carpool/meet up amongst yourselves and meet at trailhead ready to hike at 7:45am.

Required Items to Bring:
Headlamps. Layers. All the usual stuff. Extra snacks. A great attitude!

Trailhead: Located on the Windermere #93 Highway, 8kms West of Castle Junction on the South side of the road beside the Vista Lake lookout The hike itinerary (minus taking shortcut up drainage) is what I'm planning. I've hiked to Gibbon via Twin lakes, coming up Altrude creek - would like to try this route instead.
