Write Up:The three Memorial Lakes commemorate three plane crashes in the vicinity
of Eagle and Cox Hill which took the lives of 13 people. There is a
memorial at the third lake which was our destination. We took our time
along the way taking in the falls in the creek carved canyon, staring up
at the ridge from the first lake to the vicinity of the third lake
wondering how people traverse that ridge and at the third lake we
enjoyed the pristine cirque surrounded by massive peaks. There was some
trail finding and a scramble that was a bit of a challenge and included
some bum sliding, but we all made it to our destination. It was an
exhilarating and satisfying day.
