Write Up:10 members and one guest set off from the Vista Lake look-out and went as far as the Lower Twin Lake: lunch there in the rain and wind, temperature at 3 degrees C, and we decided not to go up to Gibbon Pass because of low cloud cover and wet snow on some of the trails.
It was however a perfect day for larch colour - and without the crowds of visitors ! Distance according to maps was 16km return, but two fit-bits recorded 21 and 22 km respectively - I take this to mean that on a sinuous trail, distance measured with old technology can be under-estimated. Good, satisfied and caring group of hikers.
Setting off from Calgary at 7:30 worked well for us. Back home by about 6:00pm
