It was truly my pleasure to lead this group of 13 hikers up to the gorgeous amphitheatre of Cascade Mountain. It was great to see this iconic mountain from a different angle. It was an intensely hot day but everyone managed to stay hydrated, paced themselves well and above all remained positive. On the way down Forty Mile Creek was a welcome sight where we were able cool ourselves down for the last bit of uphill. In the future this hike would be better done on a cooler day due to the elevation gain and distance. I am sure everyone truly welcomed an ice cold drink and satisfying supper afterwards. Eight of us enjoyed a tasty post hike meal and lively conversation at the lovely Market Bistro in the Three Sisters area of Canmore.
