Write Up:
Today we had brilliant sunshine and temperatures in the +1-3C range at the start of our first trip of the season. The pathway was open after being closed for riverbank remediation most of the winter, but did have periodic icy patches. Unfortunately one of our hikers had a fall on the ice within the first kilometer that necessitated medical attention. Two of us attended to that person while the rest of the group carried on. Just below the Silver Springs ridge, the group divided with 5 people pressing on to Baker Park and the rest returning. The good news is that our fallen hiker is on the mend, having received prompt medical attention. Everyone else on the trip reported having a great day.
