Write Up:
Myself and 10 member completed the Grass Pass/Gunnery Creek hike. We found the Sentinel parking area had washed away in last year's flood and we parked on the shoulder of the highway. The Grass Pass trail is rougher than in previous years but we hiked to the top in good time. It started to rain at 1 o'clock, just as we finished lunch. When the clouds lifted the views were beauty-full, everything lush and green. The walk down Gunnery Creek, despite much rockier sections and some washouts was pretty good. The rain was gentle enough not to spoil the day. The flowers are just starting to bloom and should be quite a show in about a week. Respectfully Elke Schapansky
