Write Up:
The trip went forward with only four participants. Weather was excellent, mostly sunny, with some high wind gusts while on the top. Left 7:55, began hiking 9:45, reached base of east Tent Ridge by 11:00, passing a day-old bear scat on the trail after taking the right-hand cutoff through the cut block. There were many recently downed trees to cross. Reached first summit (weather station) by 12:10, moved rapidly down the col due to high wind gusts at 12:30. Reached end of west ridge by 2:30, and exited through the avalanche slope, reaching cars by 3:45. Next time may take the left-hand fork of the trail at the cutblock, could save up to 1 km.of difficult travel. Travel times suggest that the actual distance we hiked is greater than 9km. The approaches and exit below tree line are at least 6 km. Future mention of the trip should read hike and scramble, with some exposure.
