Write Up:Wind Creek and the lower part of the Wind Ridge trail were washed out. We crossed the creek either over rocks or on logs then headed right and dropped down into the dry creek bed climbing over downed trees until we reached a downed set of trees where we crossed the creek to the other side. We bushwhacked through the forest to connect with the trail and headed up until a junction where we turned right which was the longer route to the ascent to the ridge. We gained the ascent and some climbed the rock face and others took the trail to the right of the rock face in the trees. We carried on until we reached the end of the ridge (as at this point the ridge started to descend again and we did not descend). We had lunch in warm sunshine. On our return some descended the rock face and others took the route behind and around the rock face. As we descended to lower ground we took the shorter more gradual route heading right at the junction and avoided the longer route which we took when we were climbing. We bushwhacked through the forest and returned to the downed trees which we used to cross the creek again. Instead of walking on the dry creek bed we went through the forest and followed the blazed trail to connect once again with the second creek crossing over rocks or logs. It rained as we were coming out on the lower part of the trail. So we looked a little wet but our spirits were good. And I must say the Weekenders are such a sporting bunch!
