The five of us met at the trail head at the north end of the overnight parking lot and began our trek just after 8:30 am. Our first destination was the magnificent and powerful Laughing Falls. After a short break we proceeded to the base of Twin Falls. We were a bit surprised to see only one of the two falls; one of the twin was missing. It also felt a bit sad experiencing the Twin Falls chalet closed. We had our lunch/snacks at the chalet and then made our way back to the Yoho Glacier junction. Here we opted to take the 2.3 kms trail to see the Yoho river and especially the glacier. Unfortunately the trail is not maintained. The "relatively flat trail" included about 12 tree trunks to climb over or under. The view of the river was well worth the trek. Three of us continued further on the trail to get a glimpse of the glacier. Yoho Glacier has receded over the years. A full day; about 21.5 kms. Different sources and apps presented the elevation gain to range from about 500m to as much as a 900m gain. Regardless of the stats, it was a great hike and day! We even found some huckle berries along the trail.
