13 hikers enjoyed a sunny day at Ptarmigan cirque. Snow still lingered in the trees and many slopes were dominated by golden glacial lilies. Lots of families were also enjoying this hike. An early start and finish helped us beat the holiday weekend crowd . My how the highway was lined with cars when we returned. Busier still was Elbow lake parking lot area. No animals were seen on the trail but highway 40 was loaded with mountain sheep
