Write Up:
Despite the previous day's rain and early morning clouds it all cleared away by the time we started. Perfect temperature for hiking. We altered our plan and did the trail clock wise, given there had been rain and we thought it might be slick on the steep hill. It actually turned out to be quite dry. Getting the steep stuff out of the way early allowed us to have a nice break at the top of Ranger Ridge overlooking the Elbow, then walk through the gently undulating forest trail. Saw lots of spring flowers including arnica, larkspur, solomon's seal, emerging paintbrushes, blue bells etc. Thanks to Larry for being our sweep in the bright green jacket!
