Due to the persistent forecasts of rain for the 27th, 28th, and 29th for Kananaskis, Banff, and Canmore I cancelled the trip. The long letter I sent out on Wednesday did not go through, I followed with a brief announcement of an alternate trip to Mt. Fairview at Lake Louise on Thursday. Cancellations and a late phoned withdrawal brought the numbers down to 5. We had excellent rather warm starting weather, and made Saddle pass in 1:15. A brewing storm sidelined us, we opted to climb further after a 30 minute lunch. We made the peak in 1:00, rested for 30 minutes, sheltering from high winds, and returned by 3:45 PM, making Calgary by 5:45.
