Write Up:
The hike to Memorial Lakes took 8 1/2 hours and was 18.5 km with an elevation of 1400 m (if you trust the GPS-probably cumulative). We had a stunningly beautiful day to hike-perfect temperature-not too hot. A lot of the first part of the hike is in the trees and there were a few junctions, one of which through us off the trail. We wandered in the woods above the trail for about 1/2 an hour before the various GPS' got us on track again. We made it to the third lake-so happy to have made our destination after trying to get there last fall. We considered going down the scrambler's option, but decided we just didn't have enough information. If anything the most challenging part of the hike was coming down again from the third and second lake. Great day! Back in the parking lot at 6:50 p.m.
