Write Up:
A great little hike offering a touch of mountaineering. We started on the narrow but sunny Pack trail that traverses the hillside above Powderface Creek. At the junction we took the rock climbers’ trail toward the ridge. The trail was steep but well designed with switchbacks. We met climbers carrying a mattress on their back , which they later used as safety net for bouldering. The trail contoured along the bottom of the cliff to the corner which was too long in coming for some participants. Here we climbed up through a break in the cliff and after a short traverse through scree reached the summit. This little hill offered great views in all directions. On the way back we retraced our steps down to Powderface Creek and took the valley trail, which was covered with a thin layer of soft snow. At the end of the hike every one was still smiling.
