I think we all agreed it was a glorious day cool with a breeze and not too sunny. We did 5.6 kms and 250 metres eg in 4 hours per all trails. Terrain was lumpy and bumpy as we went up and down open slopes off trail mostly. Lots of flowers but unfortunately we missed the prime bloom of the balsam root daisy by about a week. We saw a fawn that had been hidden by its mother under the leaves of a balsam root daisy. Our guide John McFaul was excellent as he knew all about the flowers, trees, geology.
