It was a wonderful sunny day after all the rain The walk east along the Bow River by the East village was very enjoyable. Most of the group had not seen the new improvements that the city has made so was a nice surprise. As we past Fort Calgary we saw the Community gardens, a detour onto 9th Ave by Dene House continuing along the river to the Weir where we saw kayakers' practicing their skills. Continuing through Pearce Park and onto the Bird Sanctuary where we took a 30 min break for people to visit the sanctuary or take a deserved rest. We returned by the same route but was so pleasant it didn`t seem to matter, we arrived back a EauClaire Bridge at 1:15 approx. A good group and an enjoyable city hike.
