Write Up:We started out on the trail at 9:00 am. The sky was clear, but it was still cool. Ten seasoned
hikers grunted their way up the steep first slope of the hike, resting as needed. Once we
completed the initial slope, we slowly progressed up and down numerous peaks, getting great
views of the valleys around us. We reached the cairns (the usual hike end) at 12:00 noon and
enjoyed an hour relaxing and even some more climbing as eight of the hikers quickly
ascended another peak. The return to the trailhead wasn't without challenges as there are
almost as many uphills as downhills. We got back to our cars at 3:15 pm and many of us
ended the day having refreshments at Kananaskis Village.
It was a great day with fantastic weather, interesting people, and the right measure of
challenges.
