Concerned about the amount of snow on the trails, we opted for a different route with less elevation gain: We went north on Elbow and back along Snagmore, for a total of about 9 kms. The sun came out around noon and made a pleasant hike even better. Doug broke trail for a while on the snowshoes he had wisely brought along, and Jacinta did a few turns up front too. Snow depths varied quite a lot. We spotted two deer and two grouse along the way. The fall colours and the bright snow made for beauty all around.
