Left Calgary, Valley Ridge @ 7:30. Set off ~ 9:30, back to Highway at ~ 5:00 = 7.5 hours, slower than expected, outward bound average speed ~ 2 km/hour, return ~ 3km/hour. Went to Lr. Twin Lakes as a group of 7 + one guest. Recommend starting at 7:00 from Valley Ridge infuture. Larch just turning. Fairly muddy trail in part between Arnica & Lr Twin Lakes. Temps varied from ~ 5C up to ~ 8C, occasional fine drizzle, , with last 1.5 km in steady rain, weather predicted fairly well using SpotWx forecasts. Distance return to Lr Twin Lakes = 18 km by at least two instruments: this means that distance to Gibbon Pass and back = 24 km. Currently, recommend potential hike list shows 23km
