It was a great morning for a "walk in the parks". The weather forecasts turned out to be very accurate... 20 to 22 C and sunny with some clouds... and only a chance of rain AFTER our hike.

We did accept the two who were on the Waitlist, but as it turned out, there were a couple cancellations late Friday evening, so we still ended up with 15 on the hike. Thank you to everyone for being so prompt this morning so we could get a good start on time.

Barker Park parking lot was chosen as our meeting place because Bowness Park parking lot simply does not have any parking on a weekend in the summer. The City has even set up a shuttle bus service to/from Bowness Park to/from their new Overflow Parking lot that is along the Al Azhar Shrine Centre road, a bit beyond Baker Park. Everyone did find Baker Park parking lot, but as it turns out, though, I need to refine a few details in the directions for finding the parking lot without visiting the Graduated Housing complex that is just before the Baker Park parking lot...

The AllTrails App I used this morning recorded that we did just under 8 km (7.8 km to be exact), a cumulative elevation of just over 130 m, a net elevation of just under 70 m, and we did the trip in just a bit over 2 hours.

You were a great group... all staying together so very well. Thank you for that too. And thank you again to Jim Shutiak for being such a conscientious tail ender / sweep.
