Write Up:A great hike!. We were few in number (4) but we stuck together and had a great outing. "Eagle-eye" Megan spotted a "herd"....13! white goats feeding on the slopes above Bourgeau Lake. They were there all day. Amazing site.
We arrived at the parking lot at Bourgeau about 8:30 and there were already a dozen cars in the lot, but still room for us. Although the the lot was pretty full, we only encountered two groups on our way up to Harvey Pass. More on the way down.
The only really muddy spot was between the lake and the start of the climb next to the waterfall. Otherwise the trail was in good shape.
After lunch we climbed the low ridge to the east of the pass before coming back to the trail. The total elevation gain for the day was 1086 meters and the distance covered was 21 km. Total time was just under 7 hrs.
