Write Up:
The starting point off the High Rockies Trail no longer had a cairn to mark it, so we rebuilt a small cairn. There is still no obvious path through this section of the hike, so we aimed upward and toward the shoulder. About halfway up there was a trail, which we followed. After awhile, concern that it continued too far to the left made us leave that trail and make our own way up to the rock boulders at the edge of the forest. From then on, we primarily followed the ridges to the end, dropped down into Sparrowhawk Valley and exited that way. We had an amazing day. Beautiful sunshine throughout along with a light breeze as we were climbing up to and on the ridge.
