The weather super co-operated with us today as we had a nice brisk temp at the start and light wind and shade on the trail when required to cool us down. No clothing adjustments required. Part A- Ptarmagin Cirque - very short section in the trees (1km) before it opened up to the the valley and cirque. We went beyond the official trail up the short scree slope to the plateau section in the cirque . Took the loop back to the left to see hidden waterfalls and gorges. Total time was 2 hours. Part B- Arethusa Cirque- we did the loop counter clockwise going east to west. Again just a short 1 km in the trees before it opens up to spectacular views. Trail is good with some faintly distinct sections but easy to navigate. We extended the loop a bit on the north side going higher. coming down we we were on a steeper direct down trail . Total time was 2.5 hours Hike stats for both cirques combined was 12 kms and 600 metres eg. With lunch it took us 5 hours to do both
