It was a great day for a hike in Kananaskis Country. We were able to depart on the hike 20 early as everyone arrived early. We greeted Pauline and Sig as waitlist hikers. Gerry required some assistance from others to find the right direction at the lower lake parking lot. He blamed it on the heavy cloud cover lol. At about the 2.0 k mark we were treated to some lightning and thunder. After a short group discussion and sage advice from Donna B we carried on through the lightning and rain. Lunch was taken on the beach patio at the Point Campground. With about 2 k left to hike one of the guys decided that there was 5 km left to go. His estimate was 4.2 k when we walked into the parking lot. Everyone was in great spirits throughout the whole hike. The was sunshine for approximately 70% of the hike. There were many discussions, with much camaraderie, from the whole group. Some of us met at the Boulton Creek Outpost to enjoy some ice cream :o).
