Write Up:
We were a group of 6 hikers. The parking lot at Lake Winnewanka was not very busy when we arrived. Our group began our hike at 9:15 or so. The trail going to Aylmer Junction was also not busy. We had lunch at the shore and headed back after 30 minutes. The return trail was just moderately busy with hikers, back packers and cyclists. When we arrived back at the parking lot we found mayhem. The lots were gridlocked with the parks officials making a valiant effort to sort and control things. After an ice cream cone our vehicle headed back to YYC. Everyone on the hike was quite pleased with their 17.5 kms. hike.
