What an exhilarating day with a great group! We hiked approximately 24 km with 900 m elevation gain in changing conditions; sleet, rain, and clear skies. The storm held off until we reached Aylmer Fire Lookout but shortened our lunch with gusting winds and a crash of thunder, making for a quick descent into the trees. We continued hiking down in the rain but as we reached the lakeshore, the skies cleared and we hiked out in sunshine.
