Write Up:A stunning hike with a range of seasons in less than a few hours.
Along the way here were a few of the plant species observed on this
hike: Scorpion weed (Phacelia sericea; note the genus name!), Arnica,
red paintbrush, Valerian, Pussytoes, Fireweed, Yellow columbine,
Buttercup, Twinflower, White Camus, Anemone, Rock cress (the tallish,
thin plant with the small purple flowers), as well as the ubiquitous
dandelion. The lovely Fairy Puke lichen (Icmadophila ericetorus) was
also seen by a lucky few". How extraordinary to have a "botanist"
with us!
