Trail conditions were bare with icy patches for the first quarter and then we had hard packed snow getting progressively deeper as we climbed. When we came to the opening in the trees where you do the steep traverse to the ridge we were greeted by gale force gusts. Postholing knee deep also as there was lots of soft fresh snow.It was back to winter. Still no complaints as we had full sun and it was very pleasant once again when we got off the ridge and into the trees going down.
