Write Up:
What a gorgeous day for a hike in the foothills. Instead of snow covering leaves, we saw thousands of leaves on snow, creating a speckled effect that was mesmerising. The snow was compacted enough to make for an easy enough walk, though we did keep our icers on for the entire hike. We saw one deer and two groups of grouse. Grooming for the west Bragg trails starts Dec. 1, so expect rough, compacted snow conditions till the packers make the trails smoother for walkers and bikers alike.
