Write Up:
This hike has a bit of everything: a warm up walk along the highway, a steep climb to Windy Point Ridge, an off-trail downhill section made more challenging by waist high grass, and easy trail walking to conclude. It is more of a difficult hike than a moderate one because of the steepness of the ascent and because of the off-trail section. We saw only one other group of hikers. Too bad the usually excellent views were compromised from all the smoke haze.
