Write Up:
We left Valley Ridge about 7:55 or so and proceeded, in light traffic, to the trailhead at Mount Norquay. We started from the trailhead at 09:30 and arrived at the Amphitheater about 12:20. It was a glorious day for hiking with a little smoke influence. After lunch the group headed over to the next rock outcrop to see if the valley was different there. There was a group of about 10 hikers from the Czech Republic. They were very impressed with the area. We also met a couple from France on the way down. There was lively discussion throughout the hike and lunch time. There was one member who exhibited some signs of distress on the way down. She received great care from the rest of the group. Once down at the trailhead we headed over to the open snack bar for drinks and snacks for the trip home. The ride back to Calgary was in very heavy traffic. Once in the car the ladies took notes on all the discussion during the hike, Turns out the whole group learned some things today. Thanks to all for joining me for this hike. Happy Trails All gerry
