Write Up:
We were a group of seven avid hikers. The parking situation, with the vehicles having to park in three different lots, was a minor obstacle that was overcome. The group left the designated meeting spot about 10:30 instead of 10:00. The area around the Chateau was very busy but once on the trail the crowds diminished quite quickly. There was a brief "facilities" stop at Lake Agnes. We had a leisurely lunch on top of the Big Beehive. The return trip, down along the Highline Trail, was less populated than the route that we took to the Big Beehive. To those on the hike I have to report that the distance travelled was not what I mentioned after the hike. I found an anomaly on the GPS data that indicates that our distance hiked from the meting point was more like 14 kms. Mea Culpa! The smoke had really cleared up on Tuesday, it still took a bit of the sparkle on Lake Louise. Gerry forgot to acknowledge the 4 new members before the hike. Thanks for joining me.
