Write Up:
Left the carpool a few minutes early and made good time to the trailhead. Started at 9:30 with a group of 7. We saw a baby rabbit just after starting the trail. A bit further on we saw 2 grouse. Made it up to the lake and had a brief snack and then headed to the pass. Unfortunately the views were somewhat obscured by the smoke, but it was still beautiful. Saw 2 more grouse by the lake on the way back and then 2 more near the beginning of the trail (probably the same ones we saw on the way up). It was a great group and there was great conversation and everyone seemed to have a good day. Just under 17 km with a cumulative elevation gain of approx. 820 metres. Thanks for coming everyone!!
