Write Up:
We arrived at the trailhead (no traffic issues at the 93 junction) and were pleasantly surprised that there was just a faint smell of smoke in the air which we quickly left behind as we started up the hill. The rest of the hike was clear and no smoke at all although you could see the haze of smoke across the valley towards Radium. Made great time up to Rockbound Lake. Although there were some dark clouds as we were having lunch and they looked quite threatening we only had a few drops. Decided to head back just in case and while we had a bit of rain, it soon cleared up and the sun was out again. The hike was 18.5 km with 930 metres of cumulative elevation. It was a great group with great conversations and everyone enjoyed the day. Thanks for coming, I had a great day!!
