Another wonderful day on the trail and a terrific group. We started with a cool morning amongst the trees with an abundance of wild flowers and very lush vegetation. Stopped for lunch at the top Elk Pass admiring the Cedar Log Portal conceived, designed, built and erected by students from three Elk Valley schools. A new trail was built leading to this portal for the bikes travelling into BC. We then continued on hydroline and down the hill to the main trail. We saw five very large piles of bear scat during the day but no bears. We returned to the parking lot via Fox Creek trail. A lovely cool, lush forest with an improved trail and new bridges. Thank you to Madeleine for the refreshing Ginger Ale including ice cubes at the end of the hike. A day in the mountains enjoyed by all. Shirley
