This seems to be a little known hike for CWH, a shame because it is a fabulous hike especially this time of year when the alpine flowers are at their showiest best. There were the usual patches of mud on the lower approach, which you can mostly step around. The trail occasionally sees horse traffic, and the mud never really dries up, in my experience. No traces of bears. We saw only two other hikers.
