Write Up:
Today we only managed to get to South Buller Pass. The weather set in with thundering rolling clouds and we decided as a group that rather than head to North Buller Pass we would return the way we came especially after seeing that dark clouds had gathered in the vicinity of North Buller Pass. Our hike was therefore 14.8 km 670 m elevation. We had some rain and hail on our way down, but not as much hail as there had been nearer the bottom of the trail where we saw lots of hailstones along the trail and in the woods. Great group and a wonderful hike in spite of the fickle weather. A bad day in the mountains is better than any day in the mall!
