Write Up:
Opal ridge is a difficult hike with some scrambling involved but not at the summit. There is a variation of terrain that involves careful navigation at times. We left the trail-head before 8:30 am and arrived back at 2:30 pm. We saw sheep on both sides of the ridge. We had a blue sky and a breeze on the way up and no wind at the summit for lunch with wine (Thanks to Lynn for lugging up the bottles) and phenomenal views in all directions. The scenery is spectacular. We had a compatible group of eight hikers. On our return drive we caught some action with the Springbank Air Show.
