Write Up:
We left the Paradise parking lot at 9:20 am, returned at 4:35 pm, ie 7 hours 15 minutes, including ample lunch and photo time at the Giant Steps. There was no problem finding parking space, and there were few hikers on the trail. Cool day, temps varied around 4 to 6 degrees, with occasional light snow (graupel), and mostly cloudy skies, with bright spots to the east. The larches were just starting to turn colour: the only bird life we identified was probably a Ruffed Grouse. The Giant Steps' creek had more water than expected, and there were lots of muddy pools on the trail in the downstream part of the valley.
