Write Up:Another Great day in the mountains. We started out going up a muddy, wet, rocky trail in cloudy cool weather. The aspen trees were in good fall colors. We had a nice covering of snow on the trees, trail and mountains. By the time we headed up to the ridge from Grass Pass the sun was shining and we were hiking up thru 10 to 15 cms of fresh wet snow. The ridge had less snow so we stopped for lunch. Believe it or not, there was very little wind. We walked the ridge in 6-10 cm of snow but the views were superb. Once we dropped down off the ridge and started down Gunnary Creek we soon left the snow behind and the trail was much drier than the one up the other valley. We often stopped to take pictures of the fall colors.
