Write Up:
An excellent day for the six of us! It started perfectly with the prearranged moose standing in the Little Highwood parking lot to greet us. After a bit of a warm up on the Pocaterra Ridge Trail, we re-grouped and set off on the Rockfall Lake trail (stay to the right in the gravel area after crossing the creek). We all participated in the special exercise of trail finding as we made our way up through the BEAUTIFUL larches (all be ourselves too). We dined on an outcrops overlooking Rockfall Lake - in which the water level was rather low - gone in fact. Secluded place to view the larches on our sunny day.
